• With the hose-pipe ban, save grey water for watering cans - for extra advice, follow the RHS https://www.rhs.org.uk/garden-jobs/water-collecting-storing-and-using
• Use saucers under pots to capture any excess water
• Mulch or add extra compost, this helps to keep moisture in
• Provide water for birds and insects
• Continue summer-pruning of Wisteria
• Prune rambling roses after flowering
• Clip over Lavenders after flowering to keep them well shaped
• Increase feeding of Tomatoes
• Cut back Hardy Geraniums to encourage a new flush of growth
• Collect seeds from flowers and vegetables for next year
• Start planning autumn planting and spring bulbs – first spring bulbs now in stock!
• Harvest main crop potatoes, onions, shallots and garlic – dry thoroughly before storing
• Remove any spent crops and replace with new, or consider Green Manures
• Water brassicas well to prevent bolting
• Cut back faded perennials
• Harvest plums, early apple, pears and blackberries
• Prune summer fruiting raspberries – remove the fruited canes
• Check stakes and ties on tall plants
